If it was football and we were playing Championship, and according to statistics, we would be well positioned for promotion (as the Mighty Saints!). But it is table tennis and we are playing Division 4 and we will have to continue to play well. In any case, “we are top of the league”, 10 games, 10 wins!

We closed the first half of the season with a well fought win over St Deny’s C, the team currently in second place. Matches of high intensity, tears from young players, high tempo shots, ended well the year.

Three more games and the ride on the crest of the wave continues for Waterside M. We finally managed to get all three team mates to play together and the good form continues. Two games against the other two Waterside teams, hard battles against Waterside N and some strange matches against New Community C.

The team is still top of the league, with Artur carrying on his 100% performance. Still a long season but we can’t complain how we started.

It has been a struggle: three matches and three wins, sitting on second place in the table, but Waterside M is still struggling to manage their three players together. The excuses range from holidays, business trip and “trick or treat” on Halloween night! But we are grateful to the reservers who played for us, William, Max and Richard! Because of their high standards, our team managed the wins.

But the next two matches will be different, Sue, Nico and Artur have made a pact to play together! Well, we are playing against the other two Waterside teams, and they wouldn’t give us any reserves, would they?
