U11 Boys Qualifiers

The Southern Region Qualification Tournament for the National U11-U14 Championships is taking place at the Waterside Table Tennis Centre in Southampton. The girls qualifiers have already been decided so today it is the boys battling for position.

In the U11 Boys the winner was Jonathan Abbott and runner up Adam Thomis with the final two qualification places being taken by Jonathan McMullan and Duncan Brown. The three reserves for this age category will be Sam Wilson, Teuog Singh and Joshua Gallon.

The U13 Boys Qualifiers are Winner Daniel McTiernan, Runner Up Aleg Nagle with Oliver Thomas and Joseph Underwood taking the other qualifying places

In the U12 competition the winner was Jonathan Abbott, Harrison Simmons took the runner up spot and Leo Long and Jonathan McMullan were the other qualifiers. Pictured below are the U12 qualifiers.

The final game of the U14 event decided the result and Oliver Nagle edged out Oliver Hack 16-14 in the fifth to take the win. Jake Goodchild and Oliver Thomas finished and 3rd and 4th and took the final qualifying places.

All in all the event went well, despite numbers being much lower than expected but the fact that the event took place on the Easter weekend was undoubtedly a major factor in this.
