Caroline Linz and Jon Evans, both from Waterside TTC went all the way to the finals at the Southampton Closed Tournament which was hold at the Waterside Table Tennis Centre on the 20th March.

Caroline at the Double!

Caroline Linz went all the way and took the Ladies Singles title beating her doubles partner Joy Whitehorn in a thrilling encounter. Predictably their match went to five sets, Caroline winning 11/7 in the final set. Caroline and Joy also took the ladies doubkes beating Anne Longland and Sue Zanelotti in three sets.

In a thrilling semifinal Jonathan Evans beat the former junior, senior and veteran Southampton champion Chris Wilshere in four sets. He played well in the final against Chris Butt, but last years champion proved to be too strong for him.
